This Porsche 917 photo gallery focusses on the Phillip Island Classic (Victoria, Australia) held over 7/8/9th March 2008. For 2008 the Porsche museum sent 917/30-002 and entrusted it to the he seven-time Bathurst and eight-time Targa Tasmania champion, Jim Richards to drive. The fact that Jim had recently become the ambassador for Shannons (the lead sponsor of the event) and had also just taken delivery of a new 911 GT2 to drive on the Targa Tasmania rally both clearly helped !!
